9 More acts for T in the Park

T in the Park adds 9 new acts to the line up

Feels like a while since we heard from our friends over at T in the Park, they must have thought much of the same because they released a little treat for those with tickets to the event this morning.

A further 9 acts have been announced, and they are:

Noel Gallaghers High Flying Birds
 Florence and the Machine
The Maccabees
The Horrors
Miles Kane
The Vaccines
Maverick Sabre
Frank Turner
 Two Door Cinema Club

Not a bad little haul, T seems to get better year on year with the sheer size of the acts it brings to Balado and this year will be no different. With it’s twin festival Oxegen not happening in 2012 can we expect more from T?

We’ll have to wait and see!

Sonisphere Make first Announcement!

Sonisphere UK have made their first line up announcement

Pick that jaw up off the ground young music fan, your eyes do not deceive you, Sonisphere UK have actually made their first line up announcement after much anticipation and crankyness from the ticket buying public. Rumours were starting to circulate over whether the festival was even taking place with Sonisphere rival Download already having a huge chunk of their line up announced, but the good folks over at Sonisphere have built a reputation over the last few years of ‘pulling it out of the bag’ and unleashing a rather unexpected yet great line up.

Sonisphere UK will be headlined by:

Queen with American Idol singer Adam Lambert

The mighty Faith No More

and the all singing, all dancing, all rocking, all leather – KISS!

Also added to the bill were:

Evanescence,
Within Temptation,
Tim Minchin,
Incubus,
Refused,
Wolfmother,
The Darkness,
Marilyn Manson,
Mastodon,
Cypress Hill,
Flogging Molly,
Lacuna Coil,
The Blackout,
Andrew W.K.,
Fields of the Nephilim,
Gojira,
Switchfoot,
Katatonia,
Ghost,
I Killed The Prom Queen

The line up garnered a huge reaction from the waiting rock public and within mere seconds on our twitter account i’d seen someone say it ‘**** all over download’ and someone else saying ‘sonisphere was up **** creek’ which just goes to show that one mans treasure is another mans trash.

We think it’s a great looking line up with potential for some really amazing sets. Kiss tore it up at Download festival a few years ago, Tim Minchin looks set to take over where Bill Bailey left off last year, Refused are on their reunion tour and who can argue with Faith no More?

Will you be headed for Sonisphere this year? Let us know.
Don’t … stop .. me .. NOW

Isle of Wight Festival is doing festival goers who might be wondering which festival to go to this Summer a big favour by getting the majority of their bands out there early. The festival is already being headlined by behemoth like bands such as Pearl Jam, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band. Add to that a helping of recent chart toppers and up and coming stars and you’ve got a festival that could appeal to most.

The already stacked line up has a few more additions including:

Katy B

Pulled apart by Horses
The Virginmarys
New York Dolls
Christina Perri
Stackridge
Beth Hart

The festival which takes place in late June has really gone back to its classic rock roots for it’s headliners this year and many festival goers are excited about the prospect.

Bestival theme announced

Can you hear that? It’s the whir of brain cogs everywhere

Why? Because Bestival has just announced their fancy dress theme and people are already starting to think about their outfits. The official theme will be ‘Wildlife‘ and will no doubt see a surge in sails of leopard print and stripey garments over the next few months.

Bestival seemed to be one of the main festivals benefiting from Glastonbury’s fallow year with many venturing to the Isle fo Wight to try the festival for the first time.

Bestival have also announced that the mighty Orbital will be playing and closing their big top stage on the Sunday night.

Still plenty to be announced for the festival, so keep an eye out in the coming months.

Oh and if you need some fancy dress inspiration, we’ve got your back. Whoever goes dressed as this little fella:

We predict will have the most friends by Sunday.

Get your sewing machines, sticky back plastic and face paints out Bestival goers!
